Newman Property Experts have announced plans to create up to 100 new jobs in their bid to revolutionise the Midlands property market.

The famous Midlands based agency, launched in 1988, had previously been voted the best Estate Agent in the UK. In November it was announced, they would relocate some of their offices to expand resources in the form of central Head Office for property transactions – they have named it “Newman HUB”.

Newman have chosen their 6,000 sq ft Rugby headquarters as their destination. Local Agents will continue to cover Warwickshire and the West Midlands while the company look to expand their operation.

In an interview with Brendan Petticrew, Managing Director, we asked how the industry has changed, “I have been in the property industry for 24 years – before the internet and mobile phones! It’s radical how the house selling process has changed – buyers no longer visit our branches to register their search. We need to make sure we are at the forefront of technology and marketing – if you didn’t already know – we were the first company to put a floorplan on a set of property particulars! We see a centralised concept as the best way to make sure all systems and processes work in a way to benefit our clients”.

“The Newman HUB will be the first operation of its kind in the Midlands and will consist of a number of different departments. There will be a HUB based sales team dealing with phone and email enquiries and a team making outbound sales calls to potential buyers. A dedicated after sales support, a graphic design and print department, marketing and social media team, a recruitment department, advanced training and development, professional photographers and of course the Agents”.

“The Agents role will be focused on just three areas –Listing properties, viewings and negotiating offers. This will enable them to spend more time with our clients, providing a really personal service every step of the way. They will focus on marketing the properties to achieve the best price and the best outcome for our clients. Basically, - we want to people love the moving process…not hate it”.

“Newman are by no means anti-High Street but we’re very pro-agent. Having the HUB and agents in the field will open up opportunity of flexible business hours. We will be able to conduct appointments when clients need us – most property buyers and sellers work 9am to 5pm.  We don’t lose the value of good agents because for some reason they can’t work strictly to traditional office hours”.
